Great Stories There are a lot of great stories about us. Kitty calls me Miss Demanding because I bark when I what to come in or for my food. I also have the fastest tail in the west and if you are any where near it you get stung. Kitty will not let me growl so I give this high pitched warble at Elarra and now Saffaira. I used to be even worse before I was spayed and have mellowed out a bit. Kitty gave Titan and Katie this huge giraffee that they really enjoyed playing with on the front yard. It lasted quite awhile. Devin and Eragon are the boys who most love to sit on Kitty. Devin sits on her when she is in her computer chair and pushes her all over the floor. Devin, Eragon and Legacy are the leaners. Bellana and Titan are the jumpers. Kitty broke her ankle and had to be in a wheel chair for a month and Devin and Eragon tried to sit in her lap. They would push her all over the floor. All of the youngsters were afraid of her at firstin her wheelchair and on crutches. Now Eragon is the most rambuncous of us and he is really big. Him and his sister, Saffaira, tear through the house and one time he actually broke Kitty's bed frame. They just do not make frames to stand up to 180 pound dogs jumping on them at full tilt. Legacy is more calm like his father, Sirius. When he was 9 weeks old he was in the groom room. He opened the dryer and let a dog out and climbed into the dryer where it was warm and went to sleep. The people all went how did that dog get out and found Legacy asleep in the dryer. |

One night Kitty cooked 4 chicken breasts on a bed of rice in a glass plate. Kitty got her chicken and rice and went to sit on the couch to watch TV and meanwhile I got up on the counter and very quietly ate the remaining breasts. When she got up to get another piece of chicken all that was left was rice which I did not touch, yuck! Now Legacy is my grandson and really takes after me when it comes to food and sneaking. One time Kitty was feeding us some scraps and had a ham sandwich on the counter and while we were all eating scraps Legacy got the whole ham sandwich. Another time he took a huge cube of butter off the counter. He is a bad boy. The picture of the heads is Eragon and Saffaira at a dog show. They were so tired that they both went to sleep in a cattle pen thus all the shavings. Cynthia is Kitty's friend from North Carolina and on her first visit she was sleeping in the Motor Home. Kitty had let Devin out front and he had not been introduced to her yet.When she got out of the MH Devin placed himself 20 feet from her and if she moved right so did he and if she moved left and so did he. Kitty was way in the back so did not hear her yell. If Cynthia would not have been a Dane person she would have been scared but she knew Devin would not attack and gradually got herself up to the house. When she got to the front door and opened it I was there and was all happy to see her and as soon as Devin saw that she was ok in my book, he backed off and went about his bussiness. This story shows that Danes are protectors of their domain but will not attack unless really provoked. |

A special moment for Kitty was when Devin got his AKC Championship in Portland. Now Oscar, the number one Dane in the country that year was also showing. Most of the weekend none of the judges even looked at or considered another Dane for the breed. But on Sunday Judge Dr Liebes gave Devin a 5 point major and so Devin went back in as winner's dog for the breed. There were 7 specials, Devin and winner's bitch who went in for breed. Dr Liebes pulled out Oscar, a Harl, a fawn and Devin out to the center of the ring. He looked them over and pulled out Oscar and than Devin. You could of heard a pin drop as he was deceiding who would be best of breed, Oscar or Devin. Well he gave it to Oscar but Devin gave him a run for his money. Kitty thought it was most exciting. |
